Dr. Bernard de Massy presented an IQB seminar
On March 28, 2025, we had the honor of welcoming Dr. Bernard de Massy, a leading researcher in the field of meiosis from the Institute of Human Genetics, CNRS, University of Montpellier. He joined us for in-depth discussions in our laboratory and delivered a seminar at the IQB. In his seminar, Dr. de Massy presented his cutting-edge research on the molecular mechanisms of homologous recombination during meiosis and the evolutionary dynamics of PRDM9. The event was attended by Professor Soichiro Yamanaka from the Faculty of Science, members of the Ishiguro Lab from the Institute of Molecular Embryology and Genetics at Kumamoto University, and many others, leading to lively and stimulating discussions. We also had the opportunity to deepen our connections during the post-seminar reception, making it a truly fulfilling day. We sincerely thank everyone who participated. On the following Sunday, Dr. de Massy enjoyed exploring the local neighborhoods and traditional gardens around Tokyo. With the cherry blossoms in full bloom, he was able to experience the beauty of the local scenery at its peak. We hope he will visit us again the next time he is in Japan!
